I was in Belgrade last year for tourism and went to a language exchange meetup. With my native German I was quite popular there and got to talk to a lot of people. Boy, did my happy tourist bubble burst. Learned a lot about the work conditions, salaries, costs there and how tons of young people are working hard at leaving. Most people speak good English and many learn German to get the fk out a.s.a.p.. It was heartbreaking, honestly. I hope everyone will find their happiness somehow, somewhere.

I'm not from Europe, I'm from the Philippines and I can't believe that the problems that Eastern Europeans have right now is also the same problems that we're experiencing here in Southeast Asia. I'm dreaming to go to Japan someday to find a better Job even though I know for a fact that their work culture is also hard and difficult. But what can I do when the system is so f*uck up already?

I have recently graduated with a diploma in IT Engineering and the only "offer" I've got in the past 6 months was 70% of what my friend makes as a production line operator who only finished primary school and has been working for 4 years now. Oh and yes, others can live at their parents and save up for the future while for me the only job opportunities are where the ungodly rent is. We're cooked, chat.

I have my final year of Hungarian middle school left (5+1 years almost done). I live really far, I can barely work and go to school at once as a result. I really wanted to work, but I can't. And now it's really hard because everything is so expensive. I'm turning 20 this year. And I'm already hearing from my parents that at this age I should be able to sustain a family. In today's day and age, I'd be glad if I could even afford my own home.....

As a greek this is on point at least for me! cannot rent with 700 euros a month minimum wage rent is 300 single bed and food with not buying things you dont need is usually 300 to 350 euros expect if you eat just pasta. So as you can imagine you cannot escape easily the cycle and most people have 2 jobs as i did to buy my bike! Also most jobs get you without insuranse for pension medical etc. Things are changing with tech at least to get you with insurance for pension thats something at least! Stay strong brothers we are gonna make it!

This ridiculous situation in the job market is universal across the world. I think a reason a lot of Indian people are migrating abroad for opportunities is because this seemingly hopeless situation is prevalent across India as well; especially in states like Kerala, where I am from. It is even prevalent in oil-rich Gulf countries, where immigrants struggle to find jobs. The negative attitudes towards mental health and mental healthcare is prevalent across Asia and Africa as well. The problem with corruption and boomers electing corrupt twits happens everywhere too.
